Brooks Automation Shares Climb 8% On Earnings Beat (BRKS)

Brooks Automation, Inc. BRKS late on Wednesday released financial results that beat Wall Street expectations and sent its stock price climbing during after hours. Brooks Automation, Inc reported 4th quarter earnings of 38 cents per share, on revenue of $181.6 million. A poll of analysts conducted by Thomson Reuters showed an average Wall Street estimate of expected earnings of 33 cents per share, on revenue of $176.64 million. President and chief executive officer Stephen S. Schwartz said, "We had a strong finish to the fiscal year with excellent top line growth and record quarterly operating performance. We saw continuing strength to our semiconductor business and we successfully leveraged that growth to improve margin performance." Brooks Automation, Inc. (BRKS) ended the Wednesday trading session at $7.41 per share, then climbed 8% to $8 per share during after hours trading.
