In a tepid consumption environment, most players had increased trade spending levels to accelerate volume growth, “but we are seeing signs that these are now beginning to ease as managers realize the implications on price/mix, underlying margin trends and category growth,” Deutsche Bank reports.
“While commodities and currency remain manageable, we maintain our market perform view on the group given high unemployment and uncertain macro,” Deutsche Bank writes.
“Top picks [are] Nu Skin Enterprises NUS, Avon Products AVP, Energizer Holdings ENR, Newell Rubbermaid NWL, and Clorox Corporation CLX.”
Nu Skin Enterprises currently trades at $30.43; Avon Products trades at $29.39; Energizer Holdings trades at $70.25; Newell Rubbermaid trades at $17.35; and Clorox Corporation trades at $63.64.
