Five Star Quality Care, Inc. Announces Resignation of Director

Five Star Quality Care, Inc. FVE today announced that Donna D. Fraiche has replaced Arthur G. Koumantzelis as a FVE Independent Director and member of FVE's Audit, Compensation, and Nominating and Governance Committees. Ms. Fraiche is expected to serve the remainder of Mr. Koumantzelis' term that will expire at the 2012 annual meeting of shareholders.
