Shares of The Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack PBY gained about 5.1% as the company reported more than two-fold y/y rise in its Q3 profit. The company posted better-than-expected Q3 earnings. Shares of PBY have advanced 61% year-to-date. US airline stocks dropped, as crude-oil reached $90 per barrel. The top losers in the list included American Airlines parent AMR Corp AMR, United Continental Holdings UAL and Delta Air Lines DAL. The NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) dropped about 1.16%. Shares of Geron Corp GERN dipped about 16.50% after the company announced the pricing of its stock offering. GERN priced its offering of17.4 million shares at $5.00 per share. The company is expecting to raise about $87 million through the offering. Gold futures moved down, after reaching above $1,430 an ounce. Gold for February delivery lost 0.79% to $1,405 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). The contract surged $9.90 yesterday to $1,416.10 an ounce on Comex.
