The New York Times Launches NYTimes App for Chrome Web Store

The New York Times NYT has launched the NYTimes App for Chrome Web Store, a new application built with HTML5 to deliver a premium reading experience of the latest news that can be easily customized based on readers' preferences. The design is based on the popular Times Skimmer application, which was launched in 2009. The app is free and available through the Chrome Web Store. Readers will be asked to pay for access to the content of the app when The Times launches its pay model next year.
