However, analysts were expecting adjusted profit of $0.02 per share on revenue of $102.6 million.
The NYSE Arca Pharmaceutical Index (DRG) rose about 0.01%, while the NYSE Arca Biotechnology Index (BTK) fell about 0.24%. Shares of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries TEVA gained about 6.2% after the company reported that Phase III study of its drug laquinimod, for treating multiple sclerosis met its primary endpoint.
Shares of Diamond Foods Inc DMND surged about 6.5% after the company reported better-than-expected Q1 results and lifted its full-year projections. Shares of Diamond Foods have jumped 37% year-to-date.
Airline stocks rose, with the NYSE Arca Airline Index (XAL) rising about 0.36%. The top gainer in the list was Brazil's Lan Airlines LFL. Shares of JetBlue Airways Corp JBLU fell about 0.2% after the company cut its Q4 revenue projections.
