US energy stocks rose along with the wider market. General Electric GE agreed to pay $1.3 billion for Wellstream Holdings Plc. The Philadelphia Oil Service Sector Index (OSX) gained about 2.01%, while the NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI) moved up around 1.2%. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG) rose about 0.85%. Shares of JDS Uniphase Inc JDSU surged about 5.9% after Piper Jaffray analyst Troy Jensen upgraded the company from “neutral” to “overweight” and also raised his price target on the stock from $13 to $17 per share. Fitch Ratings lifted the long-term issuer default rating of Huntington Bancshares Inc HBAN from “BBB” to “BBB+.” The outlook on the rating is stable. HBAN shares were down about 4.5%. The dollar fell, after strong economic data from China. The euro rose about 1.3177% against the greenback. The dollar index (DXY) lost 0.89% to 79.36, versus 80.067 on Friday.
