Deutsche Bank: Amazon Better Priced Than Leading Category-Specific Retailers

Deutsche Bank reports that Amazon AMZN continues to strengthen its positioning as a low priced leader. “Since our checks in Nov, the price differential between Amazon and other multi-category retailers has further increased,” Deutsche Bank writes. “Category-specific trends remain largely unchanged from our previous checks and Amazon is better priced than leading category specific retailers, especially in the important online retail categories of Books and Consumer Electronics. Amazon has lower prices by 3% vs. eBay (NASDAQ: eBay) and 20% vs. Wal-Mart WMT.” Amazon closed Wednesday at $175.57; eBay closed at $30.19; and Wal-Mart closed at $54.23.
