Barron's Says Disney Not Interested In IMAX

According to a Barron's source, the rumors surrounding Disney DIS and IMAX Corp. IMAX are "pure fiction." The Daily Mail had previously reported that Sony SNE was preparing a $40 bid for the cinema chain. The newspaper also suggested that Disney was interested in an acquisition. IMAX is currently trading well off of its highs for the day, but is still up 4.76% to $28.14. In what has been another very slow trading day, this IMAX story has served as good entertainment, at the very least. Despite some skepticism on the Street, it is hard to believe that these rumors are totally unfounded. In fact, Porter Bibb, Managing Director at Mediatech Capital Partners, told another news outlet that he can confirm their veracity. At the very least, this is a name to watch in 2011.
