Could Verizon Steal Apple's Thunder? (AAPL, VZ)

It's not a secret anymore that Verizon VZ is getting Apple's AAPL iPhone sometime this year, probably early in 2011. What is not known as of right now is whether Verizon will steal Apple's thunder and announce the deal at the Consumer Electronics Show this week. CEO Ivan Seidenberg is going to be one of the key note speakers at the event, and what better place to announce the historic relationship between Apple and Verizon than at the CES this week? The best place is Apple's iPhone event held later in the month. There is no way that Steve Jobs, this century's P.T. Barnum, would let anyone, including the CEO of Verizon, steal his thunder. Despite this, we could potentially see peripheral technologies related to the iPhone coming over to Verizon being released at the CES. It just won't be the main event itself.
