Verizon Wireless VZ announced a press conference this Tuesday, January 11th at 11am EST. Industry insiders are speculating that the nation's largest wireless carrier will confirm a partnership with Apple, Inc. AAPL to release a Verizon iPhone. The iPhone has faced increasing competition in recent months from phones powered by Google's GOOG Andriod operating system. Up until now, AT&T Thas held exclusive carrier rights to the must-have smart phone, but the move will allow consumers more choice and, perhaps, additional pricing options.
