Wunderlich Securities Expects EPS Improvement From ORI

In a report released this morning, Wunderlich Securities said that it expects significant EPS improvement from Old Republic International Corp. ORI over a year ago. “We estimate 4Q10 EPS of $0.13 compared to ($0.17) a year ago. 2010 EPS is anticipated to be $0.10 compared to ($0.67) in 2009,” Wunderlich Securities writes. “The estimate range for 4Q10 is ($0.05) to $0.22. We expect the results will show a moderate improvement in MI and general insurance. In addition, we anticipate PMA will contribute to earnings results and concerns over PMA reserves will prove to be exaggerated. Total net earned premiums are expected to increase 13% to $971.6 million over a year ago.” Old Republic International Corp. closed Tuesday at $12.85.
