UberEATS, a meal delivery service app from Uber is now available in London and Paris, in addition to 15 other cities across the world, according to a Reuters report. The service, which launched in London on Thursday, works similarly to the ride-hailing parent company in that users can order food at the touch of an app.
Currently, UberEATS's main competitors are Deliveroo and Just Eat, both of which have made a significant amount of capital investments recently.
The app will run on iPhone and Android devices starting midday Thursday, with deliveries available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. to users in central London. However, the company plans to expand to further areas in coming weeks. The customers can order food from more than 150 eateries, which are delivered by Uber drivers.
Despite Uber facing protests from London's notable black-cab drivers, restrictions on Uber operations have been rejected by transport bosses, allowing Uber's expansion and operation dexterity.
