Worst Performing Industries For June 29, 2016


The Dow rose 1.12 percent to 17,604.25, while the NASDAQ composite index climbed 1.31 percent to 4,753.32. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 1.28 percent to 2,062.16.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Computer Peripherals: This industry slipped 0.3 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Video Display Corporation VIDE, which fell 1 percent. Video Display shares have dropped 3.77 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has slipped 1.99 percent in the same period.
  • Farm & Construction Machinery: This industry declined 0.1 percent by 11:00 am with Deere & Company DE moving down 0.25 percent. Deere shares have declined 15.40 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has dropped 1.99 percent in the same period.
  • Auto Manufacturers - Major: This industry fell 0.07 percent by 11:00 am ET. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV FCAU shares dropped 2.5 percent in today's trading. Fiat Chrysler shares have dipped 37.04 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has dropped 1.99 percent in the same period.
  • Home Furnishings & Fixtures: The industry dropped 0.05 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Natuzzi, S.p.A (ADR) NTZ, which declined 2.7 percent.
