(TheStreet) -- UPS UPS said its fourth-quarter profit grew by 44% and guided towards its best year ever in 2011.
Excluding items, the company earned $1.8 billion or $1.08 a share. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had estimated $1.05. Revenue rose 8% to $13.4 billion, in line with estimates.
Including an after-tax gain of $32 million related to the sale of certain non-core business units, UPS earned $1.11 a share, compared with 75 cents in the same period a year earlier.
