Organic mentions of GoPro on Twitter are down 22 percent in the first half of 2016 compared to the same period last year. In addition, the number of tweets containing “hero” + “GoPro” and “Hero4” are down 45 percent and 47 percent, respectively, so far in 2016.
GoPro is set to release its Omni VR recording rig on August 17 and its Hero5 camera and Karma drone in time for the holiday season. Unfortunately, none of these products seem to be gaining much social media traction in anticipation of their releases.

The company is set to release Q2 earnings on July 27, and the market has low expectations for the quarter. Consensus EPS estimates for GoPro are -$0.57 on revenue of $212.58 million. Both numbers are well short of Q2 2015’s EPS of $0.35 and revenue of $400.34 million.
