Affymetrix Reports Q4 EPS of $.06 vs. $.03

Affymetrix, Inc., AFFX today reported its operating results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended December 31, 2010. Total revenue for the fourth quarter was $84.9 million, as compared to total revenue of $88.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. For the full year 2010, total revenue was $310.7 million as compared to $327.1 million for 2009. For the fourth quarter of 2010, product revenue was $71.9 million, which consisted of consumable revenue of $63.4 million and instrument revenue of $8.5 million. Service revenue was $6.4 million, and royalties and other revenue was $6.6 million. This compares to fourth quarter 2009 product revenue of $81.0 million, which consisted of consumable revenue of $71.9 million and instrument revenue of $9.1 million. Service revenue was $5.9 million, and royalties and other revenue was $1.9 million. The Company reported a net income of approximately $4.0 million, or $0.06 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of 2010. This compares to net income of $2.8 million, or $0.04 per diluted share, in the same period of 2009.
