Verizon Enters the Fray

Just how popular are Apple products?

Verizon Wireless said yesterday that it has stopped taking preorders for the iPhone 4 – just 17 hours after the device went on sale at the carrier. The company said it sold more units of the device in the first 2 hours of availability than any other device launch in its history. Customers who did not preorder the iPhone 4 can only purchase it from 10 Feb onwards.

On a lighter side of things (since it's holiday period for me), the addition of Verizon Wireless into the equation has created some interesting ads, with Verizon attacking AT&T, AT&T countering Verizon, and T-Mobile making fun of both of them. Here's the ads for some laughs:

Anyway, the new hype generated can only spell good news for Apple Inc and that means we stand to gain as well from our long positions in AAPL. Ooooh can't wait for the arrival of iPhone 5 and iPad 2!
