Live Cattle Futures Little Changed

December live cattle is trading at 105.52, up 0.02 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 106.65, up 0.12 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 107.00, up 0.05 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are little changed just after the open. Chatter about consumer demand ahead and the upcoming USDA cattle on feed report is making the rounds. Trading is expected to be choppy. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) cattle-on-feed report is scheduled for release Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET. Tuesday's USDA slaughter was 116,000 head, the total for the week is now 230,000 head versus 226,000 last week at this time and 215,000 a year ago.
