USDA Monthly Cold Storage Report

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) monthly cold storage report was released today after the close of livestock trading. The USDA report showed that total red meat supplies in the nation's freezers were down 3 percent from the previous month and up 1 percent from last year. Stocks of frozen beef in the nations freezers on October 31st totaled 532.326 million pounds up 2.6 percent from the previous report and up 4.6 percent from a year ago. Stocks of frozen pork totaled 597.975 million pounds, down 6.9 percent from last month and down 0.9 percent from a year ago.
