3D Systems Corporation DDD shares are trading higher by $1.30 (7 percent) $17.40 in Thursday's session. Once again, the catalyst for the rally is renewed takeover chatter. According to DealReporter, General Electric Company GE is considering a takeover of the company.
The rumor came out just after the opening bell and ignited a rally in the issue. After a flat open, the issue marched higher and has continued to make new highs for the session, with the current one standing at $17.45.
That high exceeds the former high when the rumor was first circulated on January 9, when the issue peaked that day at $16.94.
3D Systems is now trading at its highest level since October 11, when it peaked at $17.86. It has not close over $17.00 since October 10, when it ended that session at $17.72.
