Top Narrow Based Indexes For March 7 (AVL, WDC, EXK)

By 11:10 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 31.03 points, or 0.25%, to 12,138.85, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had dropped 6.44 points, or 0.49%. The NASDAQ composite index fell 35.70 points, or 1.28%.

Some of the narrow based indexes that are still afloat in the markets are Rare Earth Stocks, which have gained 3.9%, Data Storage Stocks, up 3.5%, and Canadian Mining Stocks, moving 2.3% higher as a group.

In Tickerspy's Rare Earth complex, Avalon Rare Metals Inc AVL had surged 5.3%. AVL had $40.29 million in total cash and no debt for the recent quarter.

The best performing Tickerspy Data Storage stock has been Western Digital Corporation WDC, which was up 16%. WDC agreed to purchase Hitachi unit for $4.3 billion in cash and stock.

Endeavour Silver Corporation EXK is today's leading Tickerspy's Canadian Mining stock, gaining 9.5%. EXK received approval to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
