With voice-based input likely to completely take over from text-based input, it may be worthwhile to take a look at which tech company's digital assistant qualifies for the tag of "the-best-of-the-breed."
The Leader
In a four-way contest among the digital assistants launched by Alphabet Inc GOOG GOOGL, Microsoft Corporation MSFT, Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN and Apple Inc. AAPL, Google Assistant stands tall and towering, according to Statista, quoting the results of a research done by digital agency Stone Temple.
The study was based on a sample of 5,000 questions.
Google Assistant answered 68.1 percent of the general knowledge questions posed to it and answered 90.6 percent of those questions correctly.

Microsoft's Cortana answered 56.5 percent of the queries posed in the study, getting 81.9 percent of them right.
Apple And Amazon Trailing On Answer Rate
Apple's Siri answered 21.7 percent of the questions compared to 20.7 percent by Amazon's Alexa. Of the questions answered, Siri got 62.2 percent right compared to 87 percent by Alexa.
Earlier this month, Gene Munster of Loup Ventures found Google Assistant to be the frontrunner among the virtual assistants, attributing its superiority to Google's focus on organizing the world's information. However, Munster rated Siri as the next best, given its ability to interpret user commands.
