Friday after the market close, the International Trade Commission (ITC) announced its intent to review Eastman Kodak's EK patent-infringement complaint versus Apple AAPL and Research in Motion RIMM, Brean Murray reports.
“We remind investors that any compensation that Kodak could receive remains contingent on negotiations and settlements between Kodak and Apple and RIMM – NOT on the ITC's determination,” Brean Murray writes. “So while the ITC could ultimately suggest what it believes may be fair treatment (if it so decides a settlement is warranted), the ITC's power really lies in its ability to ultimately prevent Apple / RIMM from importing any devices into the U.S. which it determines violate Kodak's patents.”
Eastman Kodak closed Friday at $3.40.
