Halliburton HAL, Schlumberger SLB, and Occidental Petroleum OXY are all extending strong gains emanating from yesterday's trading session as NYMEX Light Sweet Crude futures have surged off the morning low of $102.70 to an intraday high of $104.25.
Schlumberger SLB is the strongest of the trio, trading up 3.46% to $93.63, hovering around its intraday high of $93.72. The company looks to have its 52-week high of $95.64 in its sights.
Halliburton HAL is posting gains of 1.27% at $48.52. Earlier in the session it broke through its 52-week high of $48.77 which it had set during yesterday's session.
Occidental Petroleum Corp OXY which was lagging earlier in the session is putting in a gain of 1% trading at $101.94, resting slightly above its 20-day moving average as it has been for the past seven sessions.
