Dotz Nano Limited, a leading developer of innovative climate and industrial nanotechnologies, is pleased to announce the completion of the scale-up of its internal sorbent production capabilities by a 1000x of plastic waste-to-CO2 sorbent synthesis process, and the appointment of a new Head of Engineering, Mr. Daniel Vorenberg.

Upscale of Sorbent Production Capabilities

This milestone has exponentially increased the company's manufacturing capabilities, enabling the production of hundreds of grams in a single batch. The installation and commissioning of a large-scale pyrolysis reactor in Dotz's laboratories have been pivotal in this process. Characterization of the sorbent from the scaled-up process has demonstrated superior absorption and selectivity compared to existing commercial sorbents, suggesting a potential reduction in the cost of carbon capture.

Dotz CEO Sharon Malka commented, “The scale-up of our internal sorbent production capabilities is a significant milestone for Dotz, allowing the Company to expand its R&D activities, including further development and optimization of our sorbent technology and production processes.  Importantly, the scale-up also provides Dotz with sorbent production capacity to independently supply sorbent to potential industrial partners for carbon capture demonstration at scale."

Appointment of Head of Engineering

In connection with this milestone, Mr. Daniel Vorenberg has been appointed as the new Head of Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Natal Durban. Mr. Vorenberg brings over 20 years of experience in the chemicals and energy industries to Dotz. His most recent role was as Engineering Director & Vice President of Engineering at Plastic Back, an Israeli waste-tech startup, where he was responsible for expediting the commercialization of technology and establishing engineering capability and systems.

Prior to Plastic Back, Mr Vorenberg spent the better part of two decades at Sasol, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed global chemicals and energy company – and world leader in the development and application of the Fischer-Tropsch technology – in several roles, the most recent as director of the Sasol Group's Engineering Talent Pipeline. Prior to this, Mr Vorenberg was a senior manager in the Project and Technology Development divisions – having been involved in the development of 3 First-of-a-Kind technologies and leading Process Engineering teams to deliver on Sasol's capital project portfolio.

Dotz CEO Sharon Malka said, “I am delighted that Daniel is joining Dotz as our Head of Engineering.  Daniel's appointment strengthens our in-house engineering capabilities as we work towards achieving our next technology development milestone of demonstrating DotzEarth at scale.  Daniel will be an excellent addition to Dotz's R&D team and we look forward to his significant contribution."
