About the New Action Plan

Previous Changes to Portugal Golden Visa Schemes in 2023

The "Mais Habitação Law," which was introduced by the Portuguese government on October 6, 2023, marked a substantial change to the Golden Visa scheme. The ability to invest in real estate or associated funds in order to get a Golden Visa in Portugal is no longer available due to this new rule. The Golden Visa program is still in effect for other investment choices. The proposed modifications have no effect on already-existing rights, such as renewals, applications for permanent residence, and family reunification. New applications for residence permits related to investments, support for artistic production, or the recovery and maintenance of cultural heritage in the country are still accepted.
