WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris could usher in a new era of prioritizing women’s health if she’s elected president.

While Harris has generally toed the Democratic party line on health care policy issues, she has distinguished herself by advocating for reproductive health access and addressing maternal mortality disparities. 

The people around her who have shaped her policy positions on the issue stand to be influential in a future Harris administration. Lawmakers who had teamed up with Harris on Capitol Hill will find a newly empowered champion in the White House if Harris is elected.
