Stocks Associated With Rahm Emanuel's Potential Chicago Run (DWA, WWE, KFT)

President Barack Obama's Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, is expected to announce his official resignation tomorrow, multiple sources are reporting. It's been speculated that Emanuel will run for the Chicago mayor's office. According to the Chicago Tribune, "Emanuel has nearly $1.2 million left over from his last congressional race that he could use if he runs for mayor. And he would likely lean on those same national and Chicago networks to raise an additional $3 million or so he'll need to compete." When Emanuel ran for public office previously, his number one source of fundraising was his brother, Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel. The agent used his extensive contact list to solicit donations for his brother. Below are a few companies that are indirectly affiliated with Emanuel's possible mayoral campaign. DreamWorks Animation DWA CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg donated to Emanuel's past campaigns. Would he donate again in the future? World Wrestling Entertainment WWE CEO Linda McMahon, who is currently running for U.S. Senate in Connecticut as a Republican, donated previously. The WWE is a longtime client of Ari Emanuel's. Ari "called me one day and said that his brother was running for Congress in Illinois. 'Would I contribute to his campaign?'" McMahon told a GOP group in Connecticut in March, according to online video from the New Haven Register. "So, I sent him a check. I didn't know Rahm Emanuel. This was a favor to Ari." Finally, Kraft's KFT Political Action Committee donated to Emanuel's last campaign. The Chicago Tribune does concede that "Although big business might care a lot about Congress imposing new regulations, they have little incentive to take sides in a mayoral contest."
