Credit Card Stocks Mixed As Late Payments Continue To Drop

According to TransUnion, the credit reporting agency, late payments on credit cards are the lowest they have been since last century. Despite this seemingly good news, credit card stocks are mixed. Payments that were 90 days or more past due fell bank-issued cards, and dropped to 0.74%, after having peaked in 2009 at 1.32%. TransuNion said that the average debt per borrower is $4,679. Despite this, names like Mastercard MA, Discover Financial Services DFS, American Express AXP and Capital One Financial COF are lower, while Visa V is the only one higher.
