($DJI) rose 1.2%, and the small-cap Russell 2000 (RUT) finished higher by 2.65%, its best day since July 15. All eleven sectors in the SPX were higher on Monday as well, led by real estate and technology. Yesterday saw a slew of corporate deal-making activity, including news of NVIDIA Corporation NVDA buying chipmaker Arm Holdings from SoftBank for $40 billion. Shares of the chipmaker rose 5.8 percent.

A few things to watch today include: the FOMC Meeting begins this morning and ends tomorrow with a meeting announcement and press conference by the Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Apple Inc. AAPL hosts an event today at 1pm ET to launch new products that may not include any phones, which are expected to be revealed later in October.

After markets close, Adobe Inc ADBE and FedEx Corporation FDX are set to report earnings. Both stocks are up double-digit percent moves year-over-year.
