Proshares Shares Its Pro Market Insights

Benzinga recently hosted its first virtual event focused on investing in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), dubbed “ETF: Unlocked”. Sponsored by Traders Accounting, the event brought together important thought leaders in the space to share their expertise and discuss current and future trends for 2023.

One of the featured participants was Simeon Hyman, Global Investment Strategist at Proshares, one of the largest players in the space with over $60 billion in assets. Mr. Hyman shared his expertise and hard-won knowledge, offering traders actionable insights into the ETF market. 

Speaking about the company’s innovative Bitcoin BTC/USD offerings, Mr. Hyman had this to say, “What we’ve all learned is, what I would describe as the immaturity of the exchange marketplaces, forget malfeasance, but if you go back to Q2 we saw the largest crypto exchange remind everybody that client accounts might be commingled in the event of a bankruptcy. Futures fixes that. The futures market is a regulated place…. And when you put that into an ETF, which is by definition regulated by the 1940s Security Act, you have a really robust way to get Bitcoin-linked exposure.”
