Bear market ETFs had a good trading session today, as economic slowdown fears continue to hurt U.S. stocks. Direxion Small Cap Bear 3X Shares (
ETF) (NYSE:
TZA) was one of the best performers with an increase of 4.03%. The TZA follows the Russell 2000 Index, which lost 1.33% today.
ProShares UltraShort DJ-UBS Crude Oil ETF (NYSE:
SCO) traded higher, as crude oil struggled on the concerns of higher inventories and weakening demand. SCO gained 3.07%, and crude oil dropped below $74.
ProShares UltraShort MSCI Brazil (NYSE:
BZQ) gained 3.50%, on the weakness of the MSCI Brazil Index. Vale (ADR) (NYSE:
VALE) dropped 3.44%, and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (ADR) (NYSE:
PBR) fell 1.13%.
Direxion Daily Tech Bear 3x Shares(
ETF) (NYSE:
TYP) jumped 3.29% today, and technology stocks like Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:
HPQ) and Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:
CSCO) lost 2.03% and 2.47% respectively.
