Former President Donald Trump's "The Patriot Legal Defense Fund," a website established to bring in donations to aid his allies with soaring legal costs, has been hacked.
And, the hacker left some fairly humorous comments in place of the original copy.
What Happened: The breach, which reportedly took place last Friday, is still live. The hacker replaced Trump's iconic “Make America Great Again” slogan with a bold: “AMERICA IS ALREADY GREAT!” However, the modifications didn’t end with just the slogan change.
The cyber intruder took a deep dive, replacing the homepage with commentary on personal character, truth, and a pointed critique on Trump. Original donation links, once aligned with the fund’s mission, now direct to entities like the NAACP, the ACLU, Brennan Center for Justice, and Rock the Vote.
"Asking your friends to donate money to the Patriot Legal Defense Fund and then using that money to defend yourself from crimes? That doesn’t seem right," the new text on the website reads. "It’s like if a friend kept asking for lunch money but didn't buy lunch."
Though it should be noted that the timing of the events, coupled with the website’s domain registration, raised suspicions about the authenticity of the website.

The registration of the domain name patriotlegaldefensefund.com coincided with breaking news concerning the possible establishment of the fund, Forbes noted. The obscured administrative and contact details, along with the timing, led to speculation regarding the site’s legitimacy.
Gizmodo pointed to the archived version of the website, which seems to still show the originally intended text.
As the hacked site delves into themes of leadership and American ideals, Trump-related stocks could see volatile. Digital World Acquisition Corp DWAC, tied to Trump’s media vision, might attract attention.
The Point Bridge America First ETF MAGA ETF could see some movement as well.
What's Next? Trump is facing a fourth indictment in Georgia, and he is expected to turn himself in on Thursday, shortly after the Republican debates.
