Retailers Soaring On Non-Farm Payrolls Report (ANN, JCG, BKE, XRT)

Retail stocks are rallying today after the government reported U.S. employment fell far less than expected in August and private hiring surprised to the upside. Nonfarm payrolls fell by 54,000 while private employment rose 67,000. Analysts had expected overall employment falling 100,000 and private hiring increasing 41,000. Here is how some select retail names are faring in early trading Friday: AnnTaylor ANN is up $1.04, or 6.30%, to $17.56. J. Crew Group JCG is up 92 cents, or 2.77%, to $34.16. The Buckle BKE is up $1.23, or 4.70%, to $27.40. The SPDR S&P Retail ETF XRT is higher by 69 cents, or 1.81%, to $38.87.
