Gas prices have been creeping up again as travel demand remains high, and the Saudi government announced new oil production cuts. But, according to an English mechanic from the Walsall Wood Tyre Service, there are a few simple things you can do to save some gas money.

Drive With The Windows Closed

When it’s a nice day out, and you've got the music blasting, it can be fun to drive with the windows open. But, as the English mechanic explains in a TikTok video, driving with the windows closed in your car will reduce drag and make your car more aerodynamic, increasing your miles per gallon.

Checking Tire Pressure

If your tires aren’t filled with enough air, your car will not drive as efficiently, causing you to waste money on fuel. Most cars have the recommended tire pressure on the inside of the driver-side door. While you want to make sure your tires have enough air, filling them up too much can be dangerous, so be sure to check exactly what PSI your car calls for.

Keep Your Car Clean

Our friend at Walsall tells us in his TikTok video that keeping your car free of dirt can actually help you save money at the pump.

“Every fiber of dirt creates drag on the car, and that will slow you down,” the mechanic says in the video. So, between driving with your windows closed, making sure your tires have the proper amount of air, and keeping your car clean, you should be able to save a little bit of money at the pump.
