What To Know: According to a Business Insider report citing a leaked Microsoft pay document, hiring managers at the tech firm follow guidelines when considering how much to offer new hires. 

It's not clear how the guidelines are applied across different aspects of the business, but the data shows how Microsoft generally approaches employee compensation based on different levels of seniority. Level 63 represents "senior" roles, while "principal" positions start at level 65 and "partner" status begins at level 68.

As previously reported by Benzinga, Microsoft offered prospective workers salaries ranging from $77,000 to $310,000 in 2022 based on information that was disclosed in work-visa applications submitted to the U.S. Office of Foreign Labor Certification.

The new leaked document provides more details including bonus amounts and stock-based compensation, which significantly increase overall pay.
