Why A House In Dallas With No Windows Or Bedrooms Is Selling For $2.4 Million

A unique and intriguing property has recently reentered the real estate market in North Dallas, priced at $2.4 million. This residence, which appears ordinary from the outside, reveals an array of unexpected features once you step through the side entrance.

For example, the house completely lacks traditional amenities like a kitchen. It also only has a tiny bathroom. Most importantly, there are no bedrooms and no windows at all. Instead, there are only fake windows and exterior doors designed for security.

Additionally, the house is equipped with two separate electric grids and three generators that use a mix of diesel and natural gas.

Originally constructed in the 1990s to hide an AT&T data processing center, the house has been completely revamped by its current owner, James Grover, and his company, Mountain Top Contractors. "We knew it was too good to pass up," he said.

Now, it’s a 5,700-square-foot state-of-the-art data center and Bitcoin mining facility featuring modern technology, like a special dielectric fluid cooling system for the hardware. Nevertheless, on the outside, it blends in with other homes, although it is the most expensive property in the area.

Grover believes the property is well-suited for someone in the tech industry and anticipates a quick sale because of its efficient setup and advanced features. All the technology is included in the sale price and could be up and running from day one, which is why there has reportedly already been a lot of interest.

This property has previously been on the market. CBS News Texas reported on it in 2021 when it was listed at $989,000. The builder had special permission to use the land for public utilities, so it was initially constructed as an electrical switching center. Later on, it was rented out to store data for medical offices before Grover’s company bought it.
