One of the main benefits of consolidation, according to Urban-gro CEO Bradley Nattrass, is increased efficiency. Nattrass explained Urban-gro specializes in designing and building dispensaries, cultivation facilities, and vertical farms, and noted he believes that indoor supply facilities in Germany will be the next big thing.

GrowGeneration CEO and co-founder Darren Lampert emphasized the importance of customer service in building a successful supply chain. GrowGeneration continues to build its supply chain with distribution centers around the country and expects growth in the homegrown segment and in every other market.

Metrc CEO Michael Johnson highlighted the importance of tracking and tracing in the cannabis industry. Metrc is the largest track and trace provider in the U.S., serving 23 jurisdictions. Johnson believes that Metrc's system can be used elsewhere and that it is the backbone for partners both inside and outside of the supply chain.

Flora Growth Corp CEO Luis Merchan discussed the challenges of establishing a global supply chain. Flora Growth touts revenue above $100 million and operates in wholesale, consumer packaged goods, and pharmaceutical distribution. Merchan emphasized the importance of understanding regulations and building relationships with agencies to navigate the challenges of transportation in the cannabis industry.

While there are many potential benefits to consolidating the supply chain, there are also risks and drawbacks to consider.

The speakers at the conference provided valuable insights and perspectives on the topic, and the cannabis industry will undoubtedly continue to debate the best approach to building a successful supply chain.
