Zappy Zapolin Talks Psychedelics And Breakthrough Delivery Methods: The Future Has Arrived And It's Awesome

Mike ‘Zappy’ Zapolin, Chief Visionary Officer of Psycheceutical Bioscience, Inc BWVI, whom we'll call Zappy, shared his vision for the future of psychedelics at the recent Benzinga Psychedelics Capital Conference in Miami. He also stepped aside for an exclusive interview with Benzinga’s Anthony Noto. What Zappy had to say about the future of psychedelics and their cutting-edge delivery methods can only be described as extraordinary.

NeuroDirect

Psycheceutical Bioscience has developed what some might call a futuristic method of administering ketamine and it's called NeuroDirect, which is exactly what it sounds like, the direct application of a topical cream allowing the drug to directly target the brain and relieve the symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions and other conditions.

The Future Of Psychedelics Is Digital And Frequency-Based

“What excites me is that where the government or someone might try to get into the middle of you and your psychedelic experience, that can't happen when you're using digital psychedelics because there is no actual compound," Zappy told Benzinga. "You’re just getting the frequency of it, this is really a powerful thing.”

Topical administration, he noted, could be ideal for people who fall into higher-risk categories like teenagers, the elderly or someone who has experienced a bad trip or might be weary of IV or oral administration. At the moment, nothing like this exists in the medical world, Zappy said. Psycheceutical has successfully completed its pre-Investigational New Drug (IND) meeting with the FDA.

How Does It Work? Digitally

The patches contain a clone, which is the frequency of psilocin from psilocybin. “They put it into a crystal structure in the patch and it emits the frequency of psilocin as if you’ve taken a microdose of psilocybin without anything else.”

This process, Zappy says, “keeps the government or anyone else from telling you what you can and cannot do…this is the future because if you want to heal yourself rather than trying to target a drug to your system, you give yourself the frequency."

Stemming The Opioid Epidemic

If these types of delivery methods become available, they can play an important role in disrupting the opioid and fentanyl epidemic, which has become one of the country’s worse health crises in history. “So many of these people are not drug addicts, they’re individuals who had a pain injury, the pills end and then they go to the street and end up buying pills that are laced with fentanyl...and now they’re addicted.”

How do we disrupt this? Ibogaine, for which there is scientific evidence confirming its useful ability to treat chemical dependency, which is why various clinics worldwide have begun to offer this type of therapy.

“Ibogaine has already been proven to be non-addictive. This alone could completely disrupt the epidemic going on right now,” Zappy said.

Veterans And PTSD

“We recently had Rick Doblin from MAPS come down to our place [Psycheceutical’s labs] in Florida to check it out and he was blown away,” said Zappy, referring to psychedelic pioneer, founder and executive director of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Dobbs told Zappy that after 40 years of working in psychedelics, he was profoundly impressed with Psycheceutical’s NeuroDirect topical cream. “He thought NeuroDirect ketamine could be even better than cannabis for the veterans because it’s very smooth, very predictable.”

Zappy's Movies

“Lamar Odom Reborn” was just released on Amazon Prime. The film follows Odom, the two-time NBA champion and Kardashian star, on his journey to break his addiction and anxiety by using groundbreaking psychedelic medicines. Zappy directed the film and led the journey.

An earlier documentary also directed by Zappy, “The Reality of Truth” with Michelle Rodriguez and Deepak Chopra, explores the relationship between spirituality, religion and psychedelics. It is also available on Amazon Prime
