2023 Will Be A Big Year For Videogames, Says Konami Producer: Are 'Star Wars' And 'Metal Gear Solid 3' In The Works? What Else Can We Expect?

All true gamers are eager to try out the incredible titles 2023 has to provide. And the hype grows more and more since producers from top publishers tease amazing news.

For instance, Noriaki Okamura, a long-time Konami KONMY producer, assured that “2023 will be a year of many announcements” and that this year has been “long-awaited.”

As per Insider Gaming, Okamura -who is a producer of the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise- this could mean that a "Metal Gear Solid 3" remake is in the making.

Moreover, to the excitement of the fans, rumor has it that Konami might bring back the "Castlevania" and "Silent Hill" franchises.

Will We See A New Star Wars Game in 2023?

Julian Gerighty, creative director of Ubisoft UBSFF’s Massive Entertainment, suggested that we will see a full reveal of the new "Star Wars" game at some point in the next 12 months.

The video game, whose development was confirmed back in January 2021, is an open-world game, as reported by Gaming Bolt.

Gerighty took to Twitter to celebrate the New Year and provided a hint for the saga’s fans.

“2023 is going to be huge for us. Join the adventure,” he wrote while accompanying the Tweet with a "Star Wars" image.

 

 

In addition, Massive Entertainment shared a post on social media in early December 2022 announcing it had begun to accept applicants for the game’s playtesting. However, the official release date has yet to be informed.

As per statements collected by CBR, Gerighty referred to the "Star Wars" project and said: "This is a lore that we love, and we want to do it justice with a game and story that bring both lifelong and new fans on an immersive and outstanding journey that will stay with them for years."
