Get ready, gamers! Nintendo Direct, the highly-anticipated online presentation hosted by Nintendo ADR NTDOY, is back and set to reveal the first half of 2023's hottest releases for the Nintendo Switch.
This live show is a must-see for video game enthusiasts worldwide, as they get an exclusive first look at the latest and greatest games coming to the platform.
Among the most exciting announcements, is the release date of the long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The sequel to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will launch May 12 and pre-orders begin today. The videogame will feature Link’s latest grand adventure also has a collector’s edition with various exclusive items, as well as a new Link amiibo. The standard edition will retail for $69.99, while the collector’s edition will cost $129.99.

Nintendo fans could also watch Pikmin 4’s latest trailer and discover new characters, such as Oatchi, an adorable dog helper that will accompany players. Pikmin 4 release date is July 21.
Gamers who love the classics will be delighted to hear Metroid Prime got remastered on HD, and not only that: the digital version is being released today, Feb. 8, while the physical version will be available on Feb. 22.
Furthermore, retrogamers can rejoice with this amazing news: they can now play games from both Game Boy and Game Boy Advance on their Nintendo Switch today. These games can also be played locally or online with friends and can be adjusted to three different filters: Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color, according to preference.
Which games will be available? Tetris, Super Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins, The Legend of Zelda, Link's Awakening DX, Gargoyle's Quest, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Metroid II - Return of Samus, Wario Land 3 and Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy.
Meanwhile, the following Game Boy Advance games will be available on the eShop: The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Wario Ware, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, Kuru Kuru Kururin, Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.
Nintendo assured more games from Game Boy and Game Boy Advance will release online in the future.

Benzinga also got a sneak peek at the extra cute Disney Illusion Island, a co-op platformer starred by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck. This adventure video game will launch on July 28, but pre-orders begin today.
