Since its official launch just four days ago, Warner Bros. Games WBD’s "Hogwarts Legacy" has sold more copies than any other Harry Potter game in history.
According to a report by Gamesindustry.biz, the immersive, open-world action RPG game has already sold 64% more than Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first video game of the franchise published in 2001 and the previous most sold game.
The report uses data from UK retailers and only accounts for physical sales, which means that digital sales could potentially double the game’s launch sales, as per Insider Gaming.

Furthermore, the report compares Hogwarts Legacy to last year’s major fantasy game, "Elden Ring"; the sales of the video game set in the Wizarding World universe are up 80%.
Which console sold the most? 82% of Hogwarts Legacy's sales were on PS5, with the remaining 18% on Xbox Series S and X. Digital sales will likely reduce that gap between the two platforms as Xbox's digital share tends to be higher than it is in physical.
