Latinx music producers are at the forefront of an ever-transforming industry. In fact, in 2022, Latin music represented 6.3% of the total music consumed. That's up from 5.4% in 2021.
Latin music's streaming growth has shown a 33% increase in 2022, according to Luminate. And according to Recording Industria Association of America’s mid-year report, Latin music revenues increased 23% in the first half of 2022 to reach $510 million.
Below, is a list of the top 5 hottest producers of the Hispanic world, as per Billboard’s chart.
Edgar Barrera
Barrera, also known as "Edge," is a highly acclaimed music producer, songwriter, and musician originally from Mexico City.
After moving to Los Angeles in the early 2000s, Barrera quickly established himself as a skilled producer, working with some of the biggest names in Latin music, such as Maluma, Ozuna, and J Balvin.
He has earned numerous awards and accolades for his work, including multiple Latin Grammy Awards and a Grammy Award. In 2021, he was recognized as "Producer of the Year" at the Latin Grammys, a testament to his ongoing impact and influence in the music industry.
Among the hit songs he co-wrote and/or produced, include "Vente Pa' Ca" by Ricky Martin ft. Maluma, "El Favor" by Nicky Jam ft. Karol G, and "Tusa" by Karol G ft. Nicki Minaj.
Nowadays, he holds the top position at Billboard’s “Latin Producer” chart thanks to his work in Karol G’s song “Gucci Los Paños,” from her album “Mañana Será Bonito.” With this release, Karol G became the first woman to ever debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with a Spanish-language album.
Jimmy Humilde
Humilde was born and raised in Southern California, where he developed a love for music at a young age. He began producing and promoting music in the early 2000s, initially focusing on regional Mexican music.
He eventually realized that there was a growing demand for music that blended traditional Mexican sounds with contemporary hip-hop and rap influences.

Marcos Borrero
Marcos Borrero is a Brooklyn native, born to Dominican and Puerto Rican parents. His early exposure to East Coast rap fueled his interest in music production.
During his teenage years, he began experimenting with FruityLoops and other beat-making software, which led him to develop a sound that evolved with the changing musical landscape of the 2000s.

Bizarrap, 24, collaborates with a diverse range of artists and create tracks that are both commercially successful and artistically compelling. His beat-making process is famously intuitive and improvisational, with Bizarrap often creating tracks in real-time with the artist in the studio.
His early success as a teenager on YouTube, where he amassed a huge following thanks to his beats, paved the way for his for his Bzrp Music Sessions, a series of independent tracks that he records with a wide variety of artists, including Nathy Peluso, Duki, J Balvin, and even Shakira.
Thanks to this, Bizarrap is behind some of the most viral songs of the last couple of years and he has gained a huge following on social media, with 18.2 million followers on Instagram alone. In 2020, he garnered the highest number of global streams among all Argentine artists. In 2021, his contributions to the music industry were recognized with four Latin Grammy nominations, including nods for "Producer of the Year" and "Best New Artist."
His 2022 collaboration with Spanish rapper Quevedo quickly rose to prominence and became the world's most-played song, sitting atop the Spotify Global chart for more than 55 days. The track's undeniable popularity and infectious beats earned Bizarrap even more acclaim and solidified his status as one of the most sought-after producers in the industry.
Ovy On The Drums
Ovy On The Drums, born in Medellín, Colombia as Daniel Echavarría Oviedo, is a record producer, composer, and musician known for his contributions to the Latin music scene. He rose to prominence with his 2018 collaboration with Karol G on the single "Mi Cama," which became a worldwide hit and garnered over 2 billion views on YouTube.
As a teenager, Ovy was drawn to playing drums and began performing in local bands. He later began producing music and honed his skills in beat-making and songwriting.
Ovy On The Drums has worked with some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Maluma, Ozuna, Anuel AA, and Paulo Londra. His productions have earned him numerous accolades, including two Latin Grammy nominations for his work on Karol G's album "OCEAN."
During these past few days, Ovy has achieved his first entry as an artist on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks to his collaboration on the track “Cairo”, from Karol G’s album “Mañana Será Bonito.”
The song was released on Nov. 13 through Universal Music Latino/UMLE and debuted at No. 82 on the chart dated March 11. The track earned 5.8 million U.S. streams (an 86% increase) and 4.4 million radio airplay audience impressions during the tracking week of Feb. 24 to March 2. This accomplishment is a testament to Ovy on the Drums' growing influence in the Latin music industry and his ability to produce hit songs that resonate with audiences worldwide.
