  • Fox has asserted in legal filings that Dominion’s damages request is “untethered from reality” and concocted to enhance the company’s investors.
  • The trial will test whether Fox New’s coverage crossed the line between ethical journalism and the pursuit of ratings, as alleged by Dominion.
  • On Wednesday, Superior Court Judge Eric Davis sanctioned Fox News, giving Dominion a fresh chance to collect evidence after Fox withheld records until the eve of trial, according to a source present during yesterday’s court hearing. 
  • The source also stated Davis is likely to tap an outside investigator to probe Fox’s late disclosure of the evidence and take necessary steps to address the situation.
  • The opening arguments in this five-week trial are supposed to begin next Monday. 
  • The event follows the Fox News defamation lawsuit settlement with Venezuelan businessman Majed Khalil this Monday.
  • Price Action: FOX shares closed lower by 1.48% to $31.01 on Wednesday.
