The NFL Draft is a time of excitement for football fans and franchises alike, as they look to secure the next wave of talent to help their teams succeed. With the 2023 NFL Draft now in the books, the estimated four-year contract values for each first-round pick have been released.
At the top of the list is Bryce Young, the Alabama quarterback who was selected by the Carolina Panthers, with an estimated four-year contract value of $41.2 million. He is followed by Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was picked by the Houston Texans and is estimated to earn $39.4 million over four years, according to Spotrac.
Notably, the list features several quarterbacks, which underscores the importance of the position in the modern game. Other notable picks include Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr., who was selected by the Texans with an estimated contract value of $38.2 million, and Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson, who was picked by the Indianapolis Colts and is estimated to earn $36.9 million over four years.
For those already in the NFL, the highest-paid player is now Lamar Jackson, who signed a five-year $260 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL with an average salary of $52 million per year.
Other players on the list of highest-paid NFL players include Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets, and Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos. It's clear that top-tier quarterbacks continue to command the highest salaries in the league.
