YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has purchased several houses in a neighborhood for his family, friends, and employees.

Donaldson bought five homes just outside of Greenville, North Carolina, all centered around a cul-de-sac, the New York Post reported.

None of the homes were listed and were all bought off-market.

Donaldson bought his own two-story house in 2018 for around $320,000. The 3,000-square-foot home is complete with a breakfast bar, a whirlpool bathtub, and a basketball court.

Last year, Donaldson bought a house from Aaron Bowden in that area. According to Bowden, Donaldson said he planned to move his childhood friends-turned-employees and family into each home.

“My understanding is the folks [potential sellers] holding out is similar to any reason why anyone would have held out — it’s the best school district in the area, and they have kids in school,” Bowden told The Post.

“I wouldn’t know anything for a fact because I don’t walk in their shoes, but they may change their minds when their kids are out of high school and off to college,” Bowden added.

“Some people have been there for a while. Some people, like one neighbor, had only been there for maybe a year,” the Post quoted Bowden saying. “My immediately adjacent neighbor, they grew up in the neighborhood, and her parents moved to the beach. They only moved up the street. They just moved into a different house.”

In 2020, Donaldson bought his second house for $263,000 and three other homes in 2021 and 2022 for a combined total of $1.45 million.

MrBeast then slowly began to buy up the rest of the homes surrounding him for family and employees.

Donaldson celebrated his birthday on Sunday by giving away $50,000 to five lucky Instagrammers.

In January, MrBeast made headlines by paying for 1000 blind people to have cataract surgery.

Last week also, Donaldson paid for 1000 deaf people to get hearing aids, according to a video posted on his channel.

Donaldson now has over 150 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel.
