YouTube sensation Darren "IShowSpeed" Watkins made an unexpected and costly purchase during a live stream on Tuesday.

Known for his live streams in which he primarily plays video games like Roblox Corporation's RBLX "Roblox", Epic Games' "Fortnite," and Electronic Arts Inc EA "FIFA ," IShowSpeed found himself the accidental owner of the Midnight Blue Sparkle Time Fedora, a virtual item in the popular online gaming platform Roblox, worth a staggering 14 million Robux (Roblox's virtual currency). This hefty sum translates to approximately $125,000 in real-world currency.

The incident unfolded when a viewer shared a link to the coveted in-game item on IShowSpeed's official Discord server. Curiosity piqued, the content creator clicked on the provided link, only intending to jest and play around with the idea of purchasing the extravagant fedora. To his surprise, a few moments later, IShowSpeed found himself the unintentional owner of the item, much to his immediate regret.

"Chat, do we buy this? Do we buy it? The most rarest item on Roblox right now. The most rarest item in Roblox right now!," the 18-year-old born in Cincinnati, Ohio, teased.

However, as soon as he clicked the button, the YouTube star, who has amassed a following of 16.7 million subscribers on the platform, exclaimed: "No! No! No, I got to refund! No! No! No, bro! No! Oh, my god! I thought it would ask for verification! Why didn't they ask for verification? Why didn't it give me a field for... oh, my god! Why didn't it ask me for a verification?! What the hell, bro! Chat, how do I refund?"

Desperate to rectify his mistake, IShowSpeed turned to his audience for guidance on how to obtain a refund for the exorbitant virtual item. His hopes were dashed when he discovered that the average market value of the fedora stood at 4,394,617 Robux, a far cry from the price he had paid.
