  • Fortnite collaborates with "Futurama," offering iconic character skins of Fry, Bender and Leela.
  • Fans love the crossover as the show returns after a 10-year absence, with unique pickaxes and a new gun added to the game.

Epic Games' Fortnite has introduced a collaboration with the popular animated show "Futurama," allowing gamers to play as iconic characters Fry, Bender and Leela.

The crossover has been well-received by fans, and it comes as the show returns with a new season after a 10-year absence and 23 years after it first premiered.

Epic Games revealed each of the "Futurama" character skins comes with an alternate style, staying true to their Universe 1 version as introduced in the show's fourth season. Fans can also equip their favorite characters with back bling, adding a unique touch to their in-game appearance.

But that's not all: players can wield special pickaxes, including the Giant Nutcracker, Solid Gold Fiddle and the Unbendable Girder. Moreover, a Planet Express Ship glider and a Zoidberg Scuttle emote are also up for grabs.

The "Futurama" characters are not coming empty-handed. Bender brings along his iconic weapon, Bender's Shiny Metal Raygun. This new addition to the arsenal promises infinite plasma ammo, but players must be cautious, as excessive firing will lead to overheating and a much-needed cooldown.

In addition to the "Futurama" content, Fortnite has added a new gun called the Mammoth Pistol and various reality augments for different weapons.

Fortnite has gained widespread recognition for its remarkable collaborations with some of the entertainment industry's biggest media franchises and artists. Among these notable partnerships are crossovers with Netflix Inc.'s NFLX hit series "Stranger Things," Walt Disney Co.'s DIS beloved Star Wars franchise, music sensations Ariana Grande and Travis Scott, and many more.
