Billie Eilish To Host The Climate Party Of The Year: OVERHEATED Returns To London

Climate change isn't just a buzzword for Billie Eilish; it's a clarion call. The famed singer-songwriter has consistently leveraged her platform to amplify environmental concerns, not only through her music but also through tangible actions like eco-friendly tour practices. Her worry is palpable: As she told Dazed in 2020, “It’s so insane… We’re gonna die if we don’t do something.”

Walking the talk, Eilish is orchestrating another chapter of her climate action campaign. This year, London will witness the return of OVERHEATED, an event conceived by the artist herself. Following its inaugural success last year, this gathering aims to blend advocacy with entertainment, ensuring that the message isn't just heard but also felt.

Scheduled for August 30 at the Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace, the event promises a medley of activities. From expert panel discussions to community bonding sessions, and from roller skating escapades to delectable plant-based delicacies courtesy of Neat Burger, the day is set to captivate attendees.

The guest list is as illustrious as the cause. With a limited 500 tickets available to the public, the event will see luminaries such as Earthrise CEO Alice Eady, fashion maven Samata Pattinson and climate crusaders Dominique Palmer and Tori Tsui, among others. Maggie Baird, Eilish's mother, is also on the roster, representing her venture Support + Feed, which champions equitable plant-based food systems as a solution to climate change and food scarcity.

Missed the ticket sale? Far from London? Fear not. In a bid to maximize reach, the event will be streamed worldwide on Eilish's official YouTube Channel, in collaboration with Mercury Studios.

Last year's OVERHEATED was a landmark occasion. Hosted at The O2 in London, the event featured the screening of the "Overheated" documentary, which channeled a myriad of voices elucidating on the climate crisis. As per NME, "She’s done something far more unselfish and effective, handing over her considerable spotlight to a collection of voices that... combine as one to say: we can’t be defeated.”

While many celebrities dabble in activism, few are as committed as Eilish. Her endeavors, such as OVERHEATED, reinforce the belief that with the right intent and effort, change is indeed possible.
